Community Youth Fairs 2014
Families can learn first-hand about activities available for youth in Northfield this Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the 12th annual Community Youth Fairs.
Sports Sale to Benefit Youth
Community Services is looking for new and lightly used athletic gear, bikes, equipment and sports apparel for the first annual Sports Special Sale from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.on Friday, Aug. 1.
School Board Filing Period
The district's period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board will begin on Tuesday, July 29, and will end at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Fall Sport Meeting & Registration
Northfield High School fall athletic practices will begin on Monday, Aug. 11, and the fall sports meeting for parents and athletes will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14.
Demographic Study Results
Hazel Reinhardt, of Hazel Reinhardt Consulting Services, presented a detailed demographic report to the Northfield Board of Education on June 9. The study includes five- and ten-year projections for the district's student population, as well as a housing unit projection.
High School Summer School
For students in need of additional high school credits, the second summer session offered by the district will begin July 7.
2014 Outdoor Concert Series
At 7 p.m on Thursday, the Northfield Community Band will give its first concert of the summer at Bridge Square.
Mertesdorf Receives ‘Rising Star’ Award
Northfield Public Schools Director of Finance Valori Mertesdorf was presented with the MASBO Rising Star Award, at the May annual conference of the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials.

Three capstone events, starting Friday, will wrap up a year of work and display the talents of Northfield High School students.
