District Testing Information and Results

Standardized testing is determined at the state level. The statewide assessments are used to measure that curriculum and daily instruction in our schools are being aligned to the academics standards, ensuring all students are being provided an equitable education. The Parent/Guardian Guide to Statewide Testing outlines more about academic standards and student participation. Below is information on each individual exam type and recent testing results within the district.

  • ACT Test and Results

The ACT Plus Writing Test, typically administered to juniors and seniors, is a national college admissions examination designed to measure academic achievement in English, mathematics, reading, writing and science.

Current state legislation requires that juniors must be offered the chance to take the ACT on the state administration day selected by the district.

  • AP Test and Results

Advanced Placement (AP) is a program administered by the College Board, which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant advanced course placement and/or course credit to students who obtain scores of 3 or higher on the AP examination.

  • MCA Test and Results

All students are required by state legislation to participate in the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments. Reading and math tests are given annually to students in grades 3-8, reading to grade 10 and math to grade 11. Science is given in grades 5, 8 and 10.
