Greenvale Park Elementary
World-class Learning for Elementary Students Grades K–5
Greenvale Park Elementary is located near St. Olaf College in Northfield, nestled in a residential area and surrounded by lots of green space. Greenvale Park is a friendly atmosphere dedicated to helping children find and develop their talents. It has an active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and many parents volunteer at school.
Our staff focuses on empowering students in their learning and building a solid foundation for their educational journeys.
Greenvale Park Elementary School is also host to the Greenvale Park Community School, an initiative providing free, out-of-school-time programming for neighborhood students and families.
Greenvale Park Community School
Greenvale Park Community School provides free, out-of-school-time programming for Greenvale Park students and families. Activities are offered daily for students before school and after school, and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, families are invited to join the fun.
Northfield Public Schools intends to apply for a 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant – Cohort 8. If community members have insights on the application, they should contact Erin Bailey at email@example.com or 507-664-3652.
Learning in Nature
The Greenvale Park Lone Oak Nature Area (GLONA) features a wide variety of trees, shrubs and plants native to Minnesota. GLONA also has a butterfly garden where students can observe the metamorphasis. Exposing students to nature:
- Encourages movement and exploration
- Reduces obesity
- Stimulates creativity
- Improves test scores
