Supporting the Mission of Northfield Public Schools
The School Board is the governing body of the school district, responsible for developing policy to ensure the proper care, management and control of district affairs, and supporting the mission of educating the students in the Northfield School District to reach their full potential. Members are elected for four-year terms in general November elections and attend meetings twice per month.

Monday, December 11, 2023 ~ 6:00 p.m. Regular school board meeting including the Truth in Taxation presentation for the Payable 2024 Property Tax Levy and Fiscal Year 2023-24 General Fund Budget Revision followed by public comment. Public entrance for school board meetings is Door #2 located on the north side of the Northfield School District Office on 2nd Street West. This meeting is open to the public and streamed live.
Wednesday & Thursday, December 20 & 21, 2023 ~ 5:30 p.m. MSBA Phase III school board training in the Northfield School District Boardroom. This meeting is open to the public.
Monday, January 8, 2024 ~ 6:00 p.m. Organizational school board meeting followed by Regular school board meeting. Public entrance for school board meetings is Door #2 located on the north side of the Northfield School District Office on 2nd Street West. This meeting is open to the public and streamed live.
Public comment for the regular school board meetings may be made in person at the beginning of the meeting and you must sign up in person prior to the beginning of the meeting. The boardroom opens at 5:30 p.m. Comments must comply with the district’s public comment guidelines explained here. The board may limit the number of people permitted to participate in the public comment portion of the meeting and the board has allotted up to thirty total minutes at each regular school board meeting for public comment.
If ASL assistance is needed, contact the superintendent’s office no later than the Thursday prior to the scheduled board meeting. If hearing aid assistance is needed, an induction loop system is provided for hearing device users. Instructions are available here and posted in the boardroom.
The board’s primary governance responsibility is to set policy for the district.
