Student Sculpture to be Installed Downtown
The fourth creation of the Northfield Young Sculptors Project, "Rain on Mars," will be unveiled at a public celebration on Thursday, June 2, next to the newly reopened Northfield Public Library.

The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) has named Dr. Matthew Hillmann, Director of Administrative Services at Northfield Public Schools, as the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Central Office Leader Award.
Superintendent Richardson Retiring June 30

NHS Teacher Nominated for Teacher of the Year
Jennifer Lompart, Northfield High School English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, has been nominated for the 2016 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award.
Process for Reviewing District Discipline Policies and Procedures
At the January 25th Regular School Board meeting Superintendent Richardson presented a process for establishing clarity for the administration concerning the Board's expectations for implementing School Board discipline policies and procedures detailed in the Student Citizenship Handbook.
Process for Filling the Vacancy on the School Board
At its January 11 meeting, the Board approved an open application process to fill the vacancy on the Northfield Board of Education created by Anne Maple’s resignation. Ms. Maple's term on the Northfield School Board would have expired December 31, 2016.
School Board Member Resigns
At the January 11 School Board meeting the Board regretfully accepted the resignation of Board Member Anne Maple effective January 12, 2016. Ms. Maple was first elected to the School Board in November 2008 and again in November 2012.
