NHS Teacher Nominated for Teacher of the Year

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Learn first aid to help a young person experiencing a mental health challenge or mental disorder. Members of the public can register for one of two free classes in February on how to help youth in a mental health crisis.
School Board Member Resigns
At the January 11 School Board meeting the Board regretfully accepted the resignation of Board Member Anne Maple effective January 12, 2016. Ms. Maple was first elected to the School Board in November 2008 and again in November 2012.
Teachers honored by TIES for exceptional use of technology in the classroom
Two teachers from Northfield Public Schools have been honored as TIES Exceptional Teachers at the TIES annual Educational Technology Conference on December 15. Tammy McDonough and Amanda Heinritz were recognized for not only using technology to support learning for their students, but also encouraging colleagues to do the same.
‘Sports Special Sale’ Among Minnesota Programs Highlighted
At Monday's meeting of the Northfield Board of Education, the Minnesota Community Education Association presented Community Services with a 2015 MCEA Project Award for the annual Sports Special Sale, a scholarship fundraiser that helps kids participate in local programs.
2016-2017 Calendar Approved
The calendar for the 2016-2017 school year was approved by the Northfield Board of Education in October.
