Two teachers from Northfield Public Schools have been honored as TIES Exceptional Teachers at the TIES annual Educational Technology Conference on December 15. Tammy McDonough and Amanda Heinritz were recognized for not only using technology to support learning for their students, but also encouraging colleagues to do the same.

Tammy McDonough, grade 8 Geoscience Teacher at Northfield Middle School, uses technology tools to support learning through timely assessments and feedback to meet students’ needs. Furthermore, her willingness to step out and try strategies and tools that are unfamiliar and share with others not only serves her students, but also her colleagues.

Media Specialist at Greenvale Park Elementary School, Amanda Heinritz’s willingness to facilitate professional development sessions for staff and to support classroom learning and technology integration through her media classes benefits the entire learning community.

TIES is a statewide technology collaborative, providing management software, information technology and education technology professional development.
