Priority based budget reductions: The district shared the priority based budget reduction information with families on March 5. You can read the original message and view the priority budget reduction recommendations (updated April 2) here.

The district has also published an FAQ. This document will be updated as needed.

A community meeting for public input on the recommended reductions will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 6-8:30 pm, in the Northfield Middle School auditorium. Please note the date change; this meeting was initially scheduled for March 11.

“Tips for Talking to School Staff” Change of Location

Due to a scheduling conflict, the "Tips for Talking to School Staff" workshop for parents and guardians of children who receive special education services scheduled for Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. will be held at Longfellow School. The workshop will be presented in English in room 102, and in Spanish in room 203.

Cyber-Bullying Presentation Feb. 10

Dave Eisenmann, Director of Instructional Technology & Media Services at Minnetonka Public Schools, will be speaking to 6, 7 and 8 grade students at the Northfield Middle School about cyber-bullying on Feb. 10. Eisenmann will discuss Facebook and other social media use, texting, and internet safety.

Local Author to Kick Off Reading Challenge

Northfield author Mary Bleckwehl will read her new book, “Henry! You’re Late AGAIN!,” in each Hand in Hand preschool class on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. This event will kick off a 30 day reading challenge, encouraging parents to read to their child every day for a month.
