After several months of development, we are proud to release the new Northfield Public Schools district Web site. This initiative is a direct result of the feedback we received in staff focus group sessions held in the spring of 2010, as well as comments and ideas we’ve received from parents and other members of our community. Our goal has been to create a visually appealing site that helps us to better communicate with our key audiences – parents and students, community members, prospective families and new families.

We believe this site gives visitors access to the information they’re seeking in a faster, more organized way and truly reflects the first-class education offered through the district. In addition, we have worked to develop a cost-effective site, that is fully compatible with current web standards and offers accessibility for a variety of devices. We are particularly focused on ensuring compatibility with desktops, laptops and mobile phones and ensuring accessibility for disabled users who are unable to interact with the site in a traditional manner.

While we are confident that we have accomplished our goals, we continue looking for ways to improve. As you revisit the site, you will continue to find additional changes. In the coming months, we will be rolling out new individual school sites in an effort to mirror the updates made at the district level.
