The Northfield Public Schools will open two hours late on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, due to icy road conditions, specifically on gravel roads.

When school opens two hours late, morning Kid Ventures and morning only Hand in Hand Preschool sections are also canceled.  You can view specific building start times and other important details about late start schedules at:

Local Author to Kick Off Reading Challenge

Northfield author Mary Bleckwehl will read her new book, “Henry! You’re Late AGAIN!,” in each Hand in Hand preschool class on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. This event will kick off a 30 day reading challenge, encouraging parents to read to their child every day for a month.
