Northfield author Mary Bleckwehl will read her new book, “Henry! You’re Late AGAIN!,” in each Hand in Hand preschool class on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. This event will kick off a 30 day reading challenge, encouraging parents to read to their child every day for a month.

The Northfield Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, due to icy road conditions, specifically on gravel roads. While paved roads are in good shape, gravel roads continue to be extremely icy.

Board Decides Not to Pursue Agreement with the Northfield Area YMCA
In a vote of 5 to 2, the school board defeated a resolution to “proceed into negotiation with the Northfield YMCA regarding the construction of a building that through a joint use agreement would be built and operated by the Northfield YMCA."
