Public Hearing on 2011-12 Budget
At 7 p.m. on March 16, Superintendent Chris Richardson will present his recommendations for 2011-12 budget reductions at a public hearing in the high school auditorium and give members of the community an opportunity to provide comment to the Northfield Board of Education on the proposed budget reductions and restoration priorities.

After reviewing the work and recommendations of almost 125 individuals in the five program committees and the work of the 55 members of the District Budget Review Committee, Superintendent Chris Richardson will present his 2011-2012 budget reduction proposal and restoration priorities to the Northfield Board of Education at its March 14 meeting.

School District Budget Review Committee Recommends Cuts for 2011-12
For the past three weeks almost 180 district teachers and staff members, parents, community members, students and adminstrators have been involved in the development of proposed reductions and potential revenue increases designed to help the school district make $705,000 in budget reductions for the 2011-2012 school year.
Budget Reduction Update
At their Feb. 14 meeting, the Northfield Board of Education reviewed the district’s timeline for the budget reduction process. Anticipating the need to reduce the district’s 2011-12 budget by $2,400,000, the district will plan to spend $1,700,000 of its fund balance to offset a portion of the reduction.
