Dear Sibley Families,
Sibley Elementary is a school community that believes in helping others. Last year our school raised $2,918.83 during our Pillows for Patients campaign. With the generosity of our families and help from the Northfield VFW and MyPillow® Company, we donated over 200 new pillows to the Ronald McDonald Houses in Minneapolis.
On Wednesday, March 29th, we will kick off Simply Sheets. We are helping to fulfill an immediate need for white sheets for the Ronald McDonald Houses. Sibley’s student council has a BIG goal this year. Our desire is to raise $3,500 in two weeks in order to purchase new sheets for EVERY bed in the four Minneapolis Ronald McDonald Houses. That’s a total of 85 twin beds and 74 queen beds.
Collection buckets will be in classrooms from Wednesday, March 29-April 11th. You may send cash or a check to school with your child. Checks can be made out to Sibley Elementary. We have also created an online link to make it more convenient for families to donate online. Please see link below or access it on Sibley’s webpage.
Student council members will also be at Beyond Words on Thursday, April 6th. Please take time to stop by the Simply Sheets table that will be located in the Skylight Commons from 5:00-7:00 p.m. There will be an information video playing along with available students that can help answer some of your questions.
Thank you for in advance for being such a generous school.

Co-advisors of Student Council
During February, the “I Love to Read” month, Sibley students and staff showed their appreciation for books—as well as some dance moves. Check out the video below, which includes filming by Becky Gainey, editing by Matthew Meyer and the voices of several teachers.
Any attendance issues need to be reported to our attendance line at 645-3474 before 8:30am. This is in addition to any contact with the teacher.
Sibley’s 13th Annual Beyond Words will be Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 5:00-7:30p.m. Come Celebrate Art, Literacy, and Math! Some of the activities that will be available include marbling paper, Camp Caldecott, piano painting, and stress ball making — just to name a few. A pasta dinner will be served from 5:00-6:30p.m. Join us to help celebrate our 13th Year!
If your child is missing any items, make sure to check out the lost and found. All unclaimed items will be picked up before the start of spring break which is March 20, 2017.
Sibley Elementary will continue collecting pop tabs this year!
At the end of the school year the tabs are sold and the money given to the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester. Children and their families can stay at the Ronald McDonald House when the child is experiencing an illness that requires a lengthy visit to the hospital. Save your pop tabs at home and when you have a bunch, send them to school with your child. They will put them in a container in their classroom.
Thank you for helping!
For those that are new to Sibley, the Trash To Cash program is a collection of passive fundraisers that run throughout the year. Passive fundraising is a fantastic way to get funds for Sibley without going outside of your daily activities and money expenditures. You simply turn in specific labels, & receipts from qualifying products.
