Attention Students interested in AP exams: Registration is now open and runs through March 1st. If you are planning on taking an AP exam you must register online, the link is on the High School Counselor web page and the cost is $60 per exam. Please see your teacher or Ms. Rasmussen with questions.

Due to the rain coming our way, Ski & Snowboard Club has been canceled for today. The make-up has been scheduled for March 2nd. Middle school students may leave their skis and snowboards in the equipment room until Thursday after school. See below for a reminder of what days are left:  Thursday, Feb. 23, Monday, Feb. 27,Thursday, Mar. 2.

Activities

The Raider Speech Team earned first place in the small school division at the Farmington Tiger Invitational on Saturday, February 18th. Earning points for the Raiders were: Alice Zhang (1st, Novice Extermporaneous Reading), Katie Brust (1st, Novice Informative), Logan Ledman (1st, Varsity Informative),  Katherine Cloherty (1st, Novice Extemporaneous Speaking), Captain Libby Barth (2nd, Varsity Informative), Grace Acheson (2nd, Novice Original Oratory), Clara Peterson (4th, Novice Storytelling), Lia Pak (4th, Varsity Extemporaneous Reading), Elizabeth Acheson (4th, Novice Poetry), Katlyn Wolf (4th, Novice Humorous), Natalie Swanson (5th, Varsity Humorous), Izzy Charlton (5th, Novice Extemporaneous Reading), Chris Garlitz (7th, Varsity Discussion), Emily Walser-Kuntz (7th, Varsity Prose).

There will be a large-group DECA meeting tomorrow morning, Feb. 21, at 7:10 am in S114.  See Mrs. Wolner with questions.

Sports

There will be Fan Buses to the state girls’ hockey tournament.  The Raider girls’ play in the 8:00 PM game on Wednesday.  Information and Parent Permission forms are available in the Activities Office on Monday (TODAY)!  Permission forms must have a parent signature and contact phone number, and must be turned in by Noon on Tuesday, February 21st.  The permission forms include fan bus information and sign up for the state tournament game on Wednesday, February 22nd.  Students are encouraged to pick-up a fan bus form in the Activities Office TODAY and will be able to purchase bus fares and tickets to enter the game during lunch periods today and tomorrow.  The absolute deadline to purchase fan bus fares (for the first game on Wednesday) is Noon on Tuesday.  Students will only be allowed to ride the fan bus with signed, parental permission.  The cost of riding the bus is $5.00 (for each date).  Tickets to enter the game are priced at $11.00, and they can be purchased in advance at lunch periods today and/or tomorrow, or at the Xcel Energy Center upon entering the game.  More detailed information is on the Permission Form.

Congratulations to our 2017 Alpine Boys Return State Champion Elliott Boman!  Skye Sonnega had an impressive 15th over all finish for the girls.  Katie Brust also finished well with a 27th place overall. Congratulations to all three on their State adventure !

The varsity boys’ basketball team lost to Austin last night 47 to 61.  Scoring for the boys were:  Rasmussen 4, Christensen 5, Hodapp 3, Zabel 1, Walker 6, Zick 7, Koep 13, Otterdahl 8.

You saw the performance on Friday, and know that Rock & Roll Revival will be an amazing show. The only tickets available for the first weekend of Rock & roll revival are in the student section. We have saved the best for you, but they will go quickly!  All seats are $15 and student section tickets will go on sale in the lower cefeteria Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during all lunch periods.

There are hard copy scholarship applications available only in the Counseling Office.

Activities

The Raider Speech Team started their season with a 2nd place, large school finish at the Rochester John Marshall Invitational. Top finishers for the Raiders were Logan Ledman (1st, Informative), Libby Barth (2nd, Informative), Jackson Hillmann (2nd, Humorous), Grace Hillmann (4th, Drama), Lia Pak (4th, Extemporaneous Reading), Alaina Falck and Jonie Erickson (5th, Duo), Alex Gunn (5th, Extemporaneous Reading), Natalie Swanson (5th, Humorous), Erin Gunn (5th, Storytelling), Anna Millerhagen (6th, Storytelling), Thea Pitsavas (5th, Informative), Athziri Marcial (6th, Informative), Cullen Hauck (6th, Original Oratory), and Courtney Nelson (6th, Great Speeches). Honorable Mentions were awarded to Grace Muth (Extemporaneous Reading), Elisabeth Peterson (Extemporaneous Reading), Celia Meagher (Humorous), Andrew Schmelzer (Poetry), and Emily Walser (Prose).

The boys’ basketball team beat Rochester Mayo on Friday night 60- 46. Prestemon 2, Rasmussen 22, Hodapp 8, Zabel 2, Walker 2, Zick 3, Stanchina 2, Koep 19.

The boy’s basketball team beat Rochester Century 61-20 on Saturday.  Rasmussen 9, Christensen 1, Hodapp 7, Walker 4, Zick 17, Koep 12, Stanchina 9, Otterdahl 2.

Parking reminder:  The H wing parking lot is designated parking for students whom have purchased a sliver parking permit, allowing them to park in this lot first.  If the lot is full, move to the auditorium lot.

Rock & Roll Revival Student tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during all lunch periods. Student tickets are $15 and are special reserved seats in the front three rows!
