Attention all juniors and seniors WHO RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY:
We’ll be having large group meetings on Friday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 4th at 7:10 AM in Mrs. Kopseng’s room (H-126).  You only need to attend one of the two meetings, but you do need to attend one if you would like to be in the National Honor Society this year. Questions: talk to Mrs. Kopseng or one of the steering committee members.

Attention Juniors: The PSAT exam registration is now open! The PSAT will be offered at NHS on Oct. 19. The PSAT is an optional exam that you can choose to take in preparation for the SAT. It is a great way to practice for any timed exam. You will all be taking the timed ACT in February. Your score report will give you comprehensive feedback on your test performance. You will be able to see which questions you answered incorrectly and which academic skills you should focus on. You will also be entered in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions for possible recognition and scholarships. The cost of the exam is $14 and sign-up begins Monday, Sept. 26 in the counseling office. Check in with a counselor if you have questions.

The 2016-17 VFW Voice of Democracy scholarship applications are available in the counseling office. Students, grades 9-12, compete by writing and recording an audio essay on this year’s theme, “My Responsibility to America.” The application deadline is Nov. 1.
