I wrote the following article as part of my ongoing series about school district issues for the Northfield News. This article was published on January 9, 2019. The Minnesota Legislature commenced its 91st legislative session on January 8, 2019. A new governor, a new majority party leading the House of Representatives, and a razor-thin margin for the majority party in the Senate will lead to an interesting dynamic at the Capitol. PreK-12 public education continues as a top priority for Minnesotans.

Northfield School District voters approved the bond referendum on November 6, 2018, with 62.25% voting in favor and 37.75% voting against the bond proposal. You can see full election results here. The referendum will provide spaces where every child in the District can have a strong start to their scholastic career and can attend secure schools!
