The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) has named Dr. Matthew Hillmann, Director of Administrative Services at Northfield Public Schools, as the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Central Office Leader Award.

Jennifer Lompart, Northfield High School English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, has been nominated for the 2016 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award.

Fritz Bogott appointed to Board
The Northfield School District Board of Education voted on February 8th to appoint Fritz Bogott to the seat made vacant by Anne Maple's resignation in January 2016. Mr. Bogott's will serve a term through the end of 2016.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Learn first aid to help a young person experiencing a mental health challenge or mental disorder. Members of the public can register for one of two free classes in February on how to help youth in a mental health crisis.
School Board Member Resigns
At the January 11 School Board meeting the Board regretfully accepted the resignation of Board Member Anne Maple effective January 12, 2016. Ms. Maple was first elected to the School Board in November 2008 and again in November 2012.
Reading Oasis Welcomes Visitors
Last week Community Services opened the new Reading Oasis in the atrium of the Northfield Community Resource Center, an updated reading space for families and children that includes more than 1,000 books, audio books and other literacy activities.
