Attention :

** Due to the improving travel conditions, this evening’s district band concert will be held as scheduled at Northfield High School at 7:00 p.m. Staff will be available at the elementary schools and middle school between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m. so that students can pick up their instruments. **

The Northfield Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026, due to conditions related to the current blizzard.  All classes and activities are canceled for the day. The Northfield High School Pre-Bid Walkthrough will be held as scheduled on March 16 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Elementary K-5

The general classroom music curriculum in the Northfield Public School District is based on the approaches of Carl Orff, Zoltan Kodaly, and Emile Dalcroze in accordance with Minnesota standards, students learn to:

CREATE – generate, revise, and complete original artistic works

PERFORM – develop, refine & make artistic choices to convey meaning for and through performances

RESPOND – analyze, interpret, and evaluate artistic work

CONNECT – understand the personal, societal, cultural, and historical contexts of music
