Thank you once again for your collaboration as we work together to start an unusual 2020-2021 school year. I know there is a lot of information being shared, so I want to remind you that all of our District email messages are also archived at the District website.

The purpose of this message is to remind you about a webinar we will host on Thursday, September 3, at 7 p.m. about the Minnesota Department of Health Decision Tree. This process will be used to determine if and when students and/or staff should stay home from school based on MDH’s COVID-19 list of symptoms. You can join the webinar using this link. Additional information on how to join the webinar is at the bottom of this message.
The panelists for this webinar will include:
- Cheryl Hall, Director of Special Services/COVID-19 Coordinator, Northfield Public Schools
- Maimouna Toure-Keita, District Licensed School Nurse, Northfield Public Schools
- Sara Coulter, Community Supervisor, Rice County Public Health
- Dr. Heidi Kram, pediatrician, Allina Clinic
- Dr. Benjamin Flannery, pediatrician, Northfield Hospital & Clinics
Panelists will discuss the decision tree and how it will impact school attendance this year. Panelists will also discuss the required use of face coverings and their importance.
We have room for 1,000 people in the webinar, so I hope you will sign on early. It will be recorded and posted to the District website afterward.
It is critical that we follow the public health protocols to stem the recent increase in Rice County cases of COVID-19: wash your hands with hot water and soap for at least 20 seconds frequently, maintain social distancing of six feet from others in public, wear a face-covering in public, and stay home when not feeling well.
