Priority based budget reductions: The district shared the priority based budget reduction information with families on March 5. You can read the original message and view the priority budget reduction recommendations (updated April 2) here.

The district has also published an FAQ. This document will be updated as needed.

A community meeting for public input on the recommended reductions will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 6-8:30 pm, in the Northfield Middle School auditorium. Please note the date change; this meeting was initially scheduled for March 11.

Community Band 2018

The Northfield Community Band will kick off its free concert series at 7 p.m. on June 7 in Bridge Square. Bring a blanket or chairs at 7 p.m. every Thursday in June to enjoy music and the river view from the downtown park.

“Mayor for a Day” Essay Contest Winners

Mayor for a Day Essay Contest, a first time award, was presented to three Northfield Public School Students. Congratulations to Madyson Sevcik, a fifth grader at Bridgewater, Lola McCarty, a fifth grader at Sibley, and Ben Flory, a fourth grader at Sibley. They received their awards at the Annual State of the City Address given by Mayor Pownell on Monday, March 19.
