Northfield Public Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Sam Richardson will be the next Principal at Greenvale Park Elementary School. Sam has served the last eight years as Principal at Glendale Elementary School in the Prior Lake-Savage School District. 

Sam and his wife, Heidi, reside in Northfield with their four children – all of whom have attended or currently attend Greenvale Park. He is a 1994 graduate of Northfield High School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Carleton College. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas. 

Mr. Richardson was selected from a field of 47 applications through a rigorous process involving 25 District staff members and parents. In 2017, he was honored by the Minnesota Elementary School Principals Association with the South Suburban Divisional Leadership Award.

“We are thrilled Sam Richardson has chosen to join the Greenvale Park Elementary Gecko team and our Northfield Public Schools family,” said Superintendent Dr. Matt Hillmann.

Mr. Richardson will begin his duties as Greenvale Park Principal July 3.
