Career & Financial Aid Speaker Presentations

For families who could not attend the information sessions at the Nov. 5 parent-teacher conferences, both speakers have shared the content of their presentations. Both topics, posted below, contain outstanding information for post-secondary education and career planning.

Mark Jacobs, Workforce Development Director for Dakota County, presented on the topic “Eyes Wide Open.” His information ranged from current job trends, to future job trends, to additional education options, to what students should know, and finished with additional resources for information.

Anne Dahlen, Associate Director of Financial Aid at St. Olaf College, shared her expertise with parents about how the financial aid process works and how families can become prepared to manage the costs of post-secondary education.

Advance Sale Football Tickets

To help prevent long lines for fans, Northfield High School will sell tickets in advance of Saturday’s section final football game at John Marshall High School in Rochester. The sale will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the activities office. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for students.

Semifinalists for the National Merit Scholarship

Officials for the National Merit Scholarship Program recently announced that the competition’s 2016 semifinalists include three Northfield High School students, and seven additional students have been commended for their outstanding academic promise. More »
