Targeted Services/Summer Classes

The mission of Targeted Services is the intervention and prevention of school dropout. Services are designed to help students to be successful and to remain in traditional school. The focus of Targeted Services is on social/emotional/academic skill building and remediation. Targeted Services programming for students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade occurs on an extended day/extended year basis. If you feel your child would benefit from this program, please contact his or her teacher directly for a referral.

Summer PLUS

Safe, structured, supervised activities will be offered for youth completing grades K – 8 in the PLUS summer program. Licensed teachers will lead programming that includes fun, hands-on activities that strengthen reading, math and social skills. Afternoon recreation opportunities will include sports, arts and crafts, music, swimming, guest speakers, and more.

The program is offered at no cost to students and includes lunch and two snacks. Transportation will be provided with pick up/drop off locations to be determined.

Must be currently enrolled in a Targeted Services program or have a referral completed by a classroom teacher. Contact Daryl Kehler, 507.645.1201, for more information.

High School Summer School

High school summer school gives students, grades 9 – 12, the opportunity to make up missed credits from the regular school year in core academic areas, including English, science, social studies and math. Course offerings are dependent upon number of students enrolled. Successful completion of one session is worth a .5 semester credit. To receive credit for a class, students must attend all class sessions and complete all homework assignments. Students and families are responsible for transportation to and from class.
