Northwest Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) aligns to the Minnesota Standards in math and the Common Core Standards in reading. The MAP test is taken in the fall by all students in grades 1-8, and in the spring by students in grades 1 and 2. MAP testing is completed on an as-needed basis during other times in the year.
FAST (Formative Assessment System for Teachers) is a suite of assessment progress monitoring tools designed to help educators screen, monitor progress, and analyze reading and math skills of students in kindergarten.
All students are required by state legislation to participate in the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments. Reading and math tests are given annually to students in grades 3-8, reading to grade 10 and math to grade 11. Science is given in grades 5, 8 and 10.
AP Test Results
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program administered by the College Board, which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant advanced course placement and/or course credit to students who obtain scores of 3 or higher on the AP examination.
ACT Plus Writing Test Results
The ACT Plus Writing Test, typically administered to juniors and seniors, is a national college admissions examination
designed to measure academic achievement in English, mathematics, reading, writing and science.
Graduating Class of 2016 – All juniors were required to sit for the ACT in the spring of 2016 per Minnesota Department of Education guidelines. Current state legislation requires that beginning with the class of 2017, juniors must be offered the chance to take the ACT on the state administration day selected by the district.
In accordance with Minnesota statute, Northfield Public Schools developed a World’s Best Workforce (WBWF) Annual Report for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school year.
