Northfield’s Tackling Obstacles and Raising College Hopes (TORCH) program was recently recognized as one of 20 finalists nationwide for the 2016 Examples of Excelencia recognition program. Excelencia in Education recognizes programs that increase opportunities and achievement for Latino students.
According to the organization’s press release that identified TORCH as one of the 20 finalists:
“This year’s twenty finalists were selected from among 190 programs from 33 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia nominated in four categories: associates degree, bachelor’s degree, graduate degree and community-based organization.”
Northfield Public Schools are incredibly proud of the amazing impact TORCH has had for participating students during its 11 years of operation.
