Annual Spelling Bee’s First Round
Despite the subzero temperatures outside, eighteen top-spelling contestants represented all three middle school grade levels at the 30th annual District Spelling Bee last night.

Alumnus Award Nominations Open
The Northfield High School is accepting nominations from the community for the Distinguished Alumnus Award, to be presented at the annual Academic Awards and Distinguished Alumni Scholarship Program on April 30.
Taking it Outside – a new adventure category
With adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts in mind, Community Services has added a new “outdoor adventure” category to recreation programs. Starting this month, youth and adults can snowshoe at night, ski with an expert, or participate in bouldering or other team-based activities.
Transformational Technology Update Meetings
Northfield Public Schools would like to invite members of the public to share feedback from the first semester of the Transformational Technology initiative, during two public meetings in January.

Governor Mark Dayton directed Minnesota public schools to close on Monday, Jan. 6, because of the extreme cold weather predicted. All district classes and activities have been canceled for Monday, Jan. 6.

Beginning at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, Northfield Public Schools will conduct a test call using the Skylert system's 'Non Emergency Hours' option.
