Supporting the Mission of Northfield Public Schools

The school board is the governing body of the school district, responsible for developing policy to ensure the proper care, management and control of district affairs, and supporting the mission of educating the students in the Northfield School District to reach their full potential. Members are elected to four-year terms in November general elections and attend meetings twice per month.

Next Meeting:

Monday, January 13, 2025 ~ 6:00 p.m. Regular school board meeting held in the District Office Boardroom. Public entrance for school board meetings is Door #2 located on the north side of the Northfield School District Office on 2nd Street West. Regular meetings are open to the public and streamed live.

Public Comment
Public comment for the regular school board meetings may be made in person at the beginning of the meeting and you must sign up in person prior to the beginning of the meeting. The boardroom opens at 5:30 p.m. Comments must comply with the district’s public comment guidelines explained here. The board may limit the number of people permitted to participate in the public comment portion of the meeting and the board has allotted up to thirty total minutes at each regular school board meeting for public comment.

Assistance
If ASL assistance is needed, contact the superintendent’s office no later than the Thursday prior to the scheduled board meeting. If hearing aid assistance is needed, an induction loop system is provided for hearing device users. Instructions are available here and posted in the boardroom.

Policy
The board’s primary governance responsibility is to set policy for the district.
