Priority based budget reductions: The district shared the priority based budget reduction information with families on March 5. You can read the message and view the priority budget reduction recommendations here.
The district has also published an FAQ. This document will be updated as needed.
A community meeting for public input on the recommended reductions will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 6-8:30 pm, in the Northfield Middle School auditorium. Please note the date change; this meeting was initially scheduled for March 11.
An Approved Charter School Authorizer
Northfield Public Schools has a long history of supporting public school choice within the District. In that spirit, Northfield Public Schools serves as a Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) approved charter school authorizer. Charter schools create a contract with the district and seek reauthorization on a regular basis. We strive to collaborate and share resources throughout the district.
Our authorizer team brings decades of school leadership experience and is prepared to assist our charter school leaders. This, along with our focus on supporting charter schools located within our district boundaries, provides exemplary support to charter schools that successfully become part of our portfolio.
