BID OPENING
Contractor’s sealed Prime Bids for the ISD 659 Northfield High School Addition and Renovation by the Independent School District No. 659, Northfield Public Schools, until 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 26th, 2026, at the Northfield Public Schools District Office, 201 Orchard Street South, Northfield, MN 55057, in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Knutson Construction Services has been selected as Construction Manager Agent by the ISD 659 to administer the construction of the New High School.
The project consists of the classroom, activity center, and commons additions and multiple summer renovations of the existing interior spaces, expansion of the gymnasium space, and installation of a geothermal system to heat and cool the High School. See specification 00 42 00 for all trade packages being bid.
Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at the above time and place. Bids received after 2:00pm will not be opened.
Separate bids will be received on all portions of the work shown below and as defined in Sections 00 42 00 of the Project Specification:

BID SECURITY
Each bidder must accompany his Proposal with a Cashier’s Check, Bid Bond or Certified Check equal to 5% of the amount of the Proposal payable to the Owner as a guarantee of prompt execution of the Contract in accordance with the Proposal and Contract Documents, and that he will furnish bond acceptable to the Owner covering performance and payment of the Contract.

Bid documents are made available only for the purpose of obtaining offers for this project. Their use does not grant license for other purposes.
Bid Notices, Bid Addendums, and Electronic Drawings for this project will be distributed by Franz Reprographics.
The issuance of this Advertisement for Bids is not a license to incur reimbursable expense by the bidder(s) to seek, prepare or submit their bid (proposal). No bidding fee or expenses will be paid to any bidder by the Owner, Architect or Construction Manager.
Note: Partial sets of printed documents may be obtained from Franz Reprographics. Even if a partial set of documents is obtained, it is still the bidders’ responsibility to account for all work and coordination with all other trades as shown in all parts of the construction documents. Printer and Knutson Construction Services will not be responsible for notifying individual parties who obtained documents when Addenda are issued.

PRE-BID WALKTHROUGH
Weekly pre-bid walkthroughs are scheduled for the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, March 11th from 7:00AM-8:30AM
- Monday, March 16th from 3:30PM – 5:30PM including Best Value Approach training

Please be aware that security checks at Northfield High School will be active. All contractors and participants must check in individually upon arrival. Please plan ahead to ensure you arrive on time.

BID WAIVER
Bids may not be withdrawn within (60) sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The Independent School District 659, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids.
WAGE DETERMINATION REQUIREMENTS
Minnesota prevailing wage statutes DO NOT apply to this Work.
RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTOR ACT VERIFICATION FORM
Per Minnesota State Statute 16C.285, the Vendor shall complete the endorsed form verifying compliance with the minimum responsibility requirements in the statute. Submit completed form with the bid.
The Responsible Contractor Act Verification Form is enclosed with the bid form.
