Dear Northfield Public Schools Families,

I am pleased to announce the selection of Chris Dibble as the next principal of Northfield High School, effective July 1. This transition follows the retirement of Shane Baier, whose exceptional leadership has contributed significantly to our school community.

Chris brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including more than a decade in secondary school administration. Currently, he serves as the principal of Albert Lea High School, where he has made significant strides in enhancing career and technical education, implementing an advisory and PBIS program, and supporting staff with trauma-informed and standards-based instruction. Under his leadership, Albert Lea High School was honored with the Minnesota Association of Secondary Principals Star of Innovation Silver Award.

Chris was selected from a competitive field of nearly two dozen applicants, and the selection process involved approximately 50 staff members, students, and parents. We thank all who contributed to this critical decision.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Minnesota, and an Education Specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas. His deep understanding of education and commitment to student success will undoubtedly benefit our high school community.

On a personal note, Chris has been married to his wife Miranda for 25 years, and they have two college-aged sons. He is also a passionate outdoorsman, a curling enthusiast, and serves as the vice president of the Owatonna Curling Club.

As we celebrate Shane Baier’s dedicated and exceptional service, we look forward to welcoming Chris Dibble to Northfield High School and embarking on this new chapter of leadership together.

Sincerely,

Matt
