The following message was sent to parents of PreK-Grade 3 students on Sept. 14, 2022.

Dear Pre-Kindergarten—Grade 3 parents:
I want you to be aware of an issue we learned about this morning related to messaging between parents and teachers using the SeeSaw app.
We have several reports of teachers receiving inappropriate messages from parent SeeSaw accounts. Our initial research indicates that the parents did not send these messages to the teachers, indicating that the system has been compromised.
The district has shut off the ability to send new messages, for now, to avoid further issues while we work with the vendor to resolve the issue. The district does not host this data — it is hosted by the vendor.
We do not have any reports of this issue impacting student accounts. As a precautionary measure, the district has removed the SeeSaw app from student iPads until we have a resolution from SeeSaw.
The SeeSaw system has served the district well as a home-school communication tool for several years. We apologize for this issue and will send another message when it is resolved. `
Sincerely,
Matt Hillmann, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
