This message is a reminder of our second COVID-19 testing event at Northfield Middle School. The event will be held tomorrow (December 9, 2020,) from 1 pm-7 pm. We will have 720 available test kits, 240 more than last week’s event. Here are the details:

Why?
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the MDH have stated that testing people without COVID-19 symptoms (asymptomatic) individuals is a vital part of reducing the spread of the coronavirus. Regular testing and having those COVID-19-positive asymptomatic individuals isolate while potentially infectious will help break what is called the “chain of transmission.” A testing regiment like this one could help provide local data to assist us in decision-making about what learning models to use.

I tested last week. Can test this week?
Yes, please consider being tested again this week, even if you tested negative last week.

I didn’t test last week. Can I test this week?
Yes, you can test this week even if you did not test last week.

What kind of test is it?
This test is saliva-based. You will spit into a tube. The testing process can take up to 15 minutes.

What do I need to bring?

  • Your smartphone. If you don’t have one, we will have iPads for you to complete the process.
  • You must have an active email address.
  • If you have insurance, please bring the card with you. No one will be turned away if you don’t have insurance.

No Appointments
Based on their previous experiences with community testing, the MDH recommended that we do not schedule appointments. This will be a walk-in event. Because of the length of time needed, please understand you may have to wait for your testing opportunity. Please plan accordingly.

When will I get my results?
You will receive your results electronically from hello@updates.vaulthealth.com within two-to-three days after the test.

Pilot
Please understand that this is a pilot program and there are likely to be glitches during our first testing session. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience.
