An orientation day for all elementary students in the district has been planned for Wednesday, Aug. 31, for the 2016-17 school year. The “Ready, Set, Go! Day” at each elementary school will include pre-assigned time for families to meet individually with teachers and short literacy and math assessments to probe the skill level of each student before school begins.

School staff will mail families their individual appointment times by mid-August, along with orientation materials and classroom teacher assignments. Each time slot will be about 15 minutes long and will be scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. that day.
