Claire and Linnea Larson, a local mother-daughter team, will launch a free support group at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 for families and children facing the challenges of Type 1 diabetes. The group plans to host nine meetings throughout the school year for families in Northfield and surrounding areas. Each meeting will have a unique topic regarding Type 1 diabetes, and guest speakers will be invited to engage and educate parents and children on various aspects of diabetes management.

Meetings will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, at the Northfield Middle School Media Center. See the list below for dates and topics. Special activities and discussion for children will be planned for each meeting.

No pre-registration is required, so families may simply show up. Light, diabetic-friendly snacks will be served at each meeting. For more information, please contact Claire Larson, at clairelarson507@gmail.com, or refer to the group’s Facebook page, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/905404429531418.
