Michael O’Keefe has been hired as Assistant Principal at Northfield Middle School effective August 3. O’Keefe replaces Greg Gelineau who began his new role as Principal at Northfield Middle School in July.

Prior to that, O’Keefe worked at Parkview Elementary School in Rosemount in various positions. First, teaching fifth grade and then as the Behavioral Specialist.

O’Keefe earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin –River Falls. While working at Parkview, he received his Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University (Winona) and Educational Specialist/K-12 Principal license at St. Mary’s University (Minneapolis).

As Assistant Principal at Northfield Middle School, O’Keefe will be working with student services and assisting the Principal in providing educational leadership to staff while creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

“Michael has hit the ground running and is doing what he does best – connecting with people. He is a problem-solver who prides himself in working with people to do what is best for students,” said Greg Gelineau, Northfield Middle School Principal.
