Northfield Public Schools is seeking volunteers to serve on the District Educational Program Advisory Council (DEPAC), a group that works to assure community-school cooperation in setting improvement goals, evaluating progress toward meeting annual objectives, and reporting findings and recommendations.
The council is comprised of district administrators, staff, school board members, parents and community members. Their work focuses on three areas: assessment, teaching and learning, and student services.
DEPAC members will meet six times in the 2015-16 school year. Meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 19, Nov. 16, Feb. 15, March 7, April 18 and May 16 in the high school media center.
Members will be asked to work in small groups to study district initiatives and identify areas of need and will report their recommendations to the Northfield Board of Education.
