A power outage in portions of Northfield today affected Bridgewater Elementary, Northfield High School and Northfield Middle School, beginning at approximately 2:40 p.m. According to the Northfield Police Department, the outage was caused by damage to a power pole on Highway 3. Longfellow School and Greenvale Park and Sibley Elementary schools were not affected.

All after-school activities at Northfield Middle School were canceled. All after-school activities at Northfield High School continued as scheduled, with the exception of girls volleyball and girls swimming & diving – both of which were canceled.

Buses departed at the normal time, following their regular drop-off schedule.

Power was restored at approximately 3:45 pm.
