The district’s period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board will begin on Tuesday, July 29, and will end at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Three seats on the Northfield Board of Education will be up for general election on Nov. 4. Voters will choose three members to serve four-year terms each, beginning in January 2015.
Affidavits of candidacy are available in the district office, located at 1400 Division Street South. The filing fee is $2. A candidate for school board must not have any other affidavit on file for any other elected office during the same general election.
A candidate for school board must meet the following qualifications:
- Be an eligible voter
- Be at least 21 years old upon assuming office
- Be a resident of the district for thirty days before the general election
