The Northfield Middle School student-run bookstore, The Tattered Pages, will host the fourth annual Mother’s Day Book Sale May 5-9. Middle school families are invited to attend the May 5 kick-off, to be held in conjunction with a Cinco de Mayo celebration at 5 p.m.
Located in the school’s media center, The Tattered Pages carries used books and gifts that middle school students can purchase with coupons rather than real currency. Students earn coupons by donating books; working in the bookstore; excelling in the classroom, cafeteria, or on the school bus; or by completing a task from a teacher’s job jar.
Refreshments will be for sale throughout the week and free gift wrapping will be available.
Students who wish to purchase new items with real money will also have the opportunity to shop at the Scholastic Bookfair, held in the media center during the same week. Bookfair products will be offered two-for-the-price-of-one.
Donations are welcome at the middle school media center and can also be picked up. Examples of donations include: books on topics such as cooking, gardening and crafts; stationary and journals; candles and mugs; and picture frames, plants, art and jewelry. Please contact Amy Sieve, at 507.663.0658, with questions or to arrange for pick up.
