Do you long to plant and weed and harvest, but don’t have a yard? Northfield Community Gardeners began accepting applications this week from those interested in maintaining a plot at Greenvale Park Community Garden.

Those assigned space in the garden will be able to plan and be responsible entirely for their own plot. Work alongside experienced gardeners, tending a shared plot for the Northfield Food Shelf and maintaining compost and grassy areas.

Only organic gardening methods may be used, and gardeners pay a fee of $25 for the year (or $15 for half plots). Financial assistance is available for those unable to pay the full amount.

With a limited number of plots, applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
