Youth entering grades one through seven next fall can explore new interests, learn new skills and develop new friendships over the summer in a safe and nurturing environment, at SummerVentures.

This KidVentures summer program is currently open for registration, offering a variety of scheduling options and separate opportunities for older youth.

The program will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 10 to Aug. 23. It will be located at Greenvale Park Elementary, with a bonus week at the Northfield Community Resource Center (NCRC) from Aug. 26 to 29.

SummerVentures is divided into week-long camps created with themes, such as Little Artists, Rockstars, Animal Planet or Ooey Gooey. All camps include afternoon swimming sessions. Field trips on Fridays are a well-known treat, with visits to locations such as Sky Zone, Vertical Endeavors, Cascade Bay and the Steppingstone Theatre.

For youth entering grades five through seven, TweenVentures offers choice-driven programming to help cultivate independence and leadership skills, along with new interests and hobbies. This summer participants will take on the responsibilities of caring for a plot in the Greenvale Park Community Garden, as part of a service-learning component.
