Winter Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes, including General Education Development (GED), will begin on Jan. 14. These free classes will be offered Monday mornings at Greenvale Place Apartments and Tuesday mornings at the Northfield Community Resource Center (NCRC). Afternoon classes will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays at the NCRC.

Registration for new afternoon GED/ABE students is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the NCRC. Adults who want to register for morning classes can call for an appointment or register the first day of class. Free online study is available for students.

Free English classes for adults will also begin Jan. 14. Intended for all levels of English learners, topics will include basic vocabulary, reading, writing and conversation. Classes will be held from 9 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 6 to 8:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. All English classes will be held at the Northfield Community Resource Center (NCRC).

Registration for English classes will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 9. Free childcare is available during evening English classes only.
