Students ages 8 and older will become Jedi masters as they wield a lightsaber in Lightsaber Dueling, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, andagain on Feb. 22. Class is $14 and will be held at the Longfellow School Gymnasium.

Home Alone is a new youth safety workshop for 8- to10-year-olds taught by Cathy White, an authorized provider of the American Red Cross. Students will learn about staying safe while at home alone for a short while and about escape routes, first aid, kitchen safety and much more. The workshop will be from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the middle school and costs $34.

Hand in Hand Preschool and EarlyVentures Childcare, both school readiness preschool programs with Northfield Public Schools Community Services, will host an open house and fall registration event from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Longfellow School. This is a chance to meet the teachers, play in the classrooms and find out more about the programs.
