Two district teachers received the TIES Exceptional Teachers award at the organization’s annual conference in Minneapolis on Dec. 11.
Eric Sandberg and Tony Seidl were among 82 teachers from 43 districts recognized for modeling best practices in their classroom and engaging students in learning.
Seidl, a grade 4 teacher at Greenvale Park Elementary, was selected for his work in using the iPad with students. Sandberg was selected for integrating social media into his social studies classes at the high school.
School districts participating in the TIES Exceptional Teacher award program are members of TIES, an education technology consortium of 47 Minnesota school districts. Teachers are nominated by their superintendents for the TIES award. Winning teachers are also featured in the TIES Exceptional Teachers publication.
