Northfield Public Schools announces several available positions on the Community Education Advisory Council. Each appointment is a three-year term, in effect from August 2011 to June 2014.
The Advisory Council is made up of 18 voting members representing a wide range of community interests. The Council is especially interested in adding two youth representatives, either in grades 9 or 10. Student terms are one year.
The Northfield Public Schools Community Services Division serves the school district area with several programs including Early Childhood Family Education and related early childhood programs, Adult Basic Education, Early Ventures Child Care and KidVentures School Age Care, Project ABLE, Youth Development/Youth Service, Drivers Education, general interest classes, and the Recreation Program. The Community Services Advisory Council advises staff in programming, budgeting, and departmental development. Adults and older youth from throughout the community are encouraged to apply.
