Link Crew, the Northfield High School transition program, strives to welcome the freshman class on the first day of school as well as continue to support them throughout their first year of high school.
Link leaders are a select group of Juniors and Seniors, instensely trained, and assigned to one small group of freshman for the entire year. The leaders’ goals are to lead freshman orientation on the first day as well as connect with the freshman throughout the first year of high school to aid in academic success and to make a personal connection with each student!
Hey Freshmen! We’re so glad you’re coming to NHS!
We’ve designed the first day of school to welcome you as a new member of our NHS community.
Here’s what you need to know about that first day:
Arrive in plenty of time to start by 7:51 am. The first place you need to report when you get to the high school is the upper cafeteria. Once in the upper cafeteria, you will be ushered into the gymnasium where you will you spend the first part of the morning. The remainder of the morning will be spent in small groups throughout the building, where you will get to know your peers and Link Leaders and then you will get a personal tour of the school. You will then have lunch with your Link groups. The remainder of the day you will go through a condensed version of your class schedule (along with the rest of the NHS student body).
Things to know for the first day:
Don’t bring a backpack or any supplies
Wear comfortable clothes that you can be active in
For lunch you can either bring a sack lunch or eat the school’s hot lunch (make sure your account has $ in it)
Be prepared to be a little silly and meet some new people! You never thought high school would be like this!!!
