The Northfield Area Learning Center has been chosen as the recipient of the 2016 MAAP Program of the Year award, by the Minnesota Association of Alternative Programs (MAAP).
Community members are invited to help celebrate this honor, at an open house & reception from 3 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Longfellow School. Come to the second floor, explore and learn what the ALC is all about.
MAAP is comprised of more than 300 Alternative Learning Centers, charter schools, online programs and other learning alternatives. Its mission is to lead, promote, and support innovative learning experiences for all Minnesota students.
The Program of the Year award will be presented at the MAAP State Conference in Duluth on Feb. 11. Nomination criteria includes the following:
- The program/school must provide a model in leadership, curriculum, structure, outreach, outcomes, and innovation from which other schools/programs can take inspiration.
- The program/school should reflect the vision and mission of MAAP.
- The program/school must have active MAAP members on staff.
