Northfield VFW Patriotic Essay Contest Winners Read to Veterans

Students with contest-winning essays read to Northfield’s Veterans of Foreign Wars post on January 11 and went on to represent Northfield in the state competition.

Northfield High School student Logan Ledman, who won second place last year, took first place for his essay inspired by a recent visit to Arlington Cemetery. To read the complete story, go to the Northfield News.  Logan went on to compete at the State VFW competition where his essay and speech on “My Responsibility to America” earned him second place out of nine State VFW District Champions.

School Board Welcomes New Member

School Board members elected in November were seated at the School Board organizational meeting on January 9. Newly elected Board member Amy Goerwitz joined incumbents Rob Hardy, Ellen Iverson and Noel Stratmoen in reciting the Oath of Office to begin their four-year term. More »

Students Collect Over 2,400 Books for Northfield Promise

Northfield elementary students collected more than 2,400 books to donate to Northfield Promise.

Thanks to volunteer coordinators at Greenvale Park, Sibley and Bridgewater Elementary schools, the students found a way to help fellow students.  More »

After School & Evening Activities cancelled, Saturday activities cancelled

All after school and evening activities are cancelled today (Friday, December 16) and all activities are cancelled for Saturday, December 17th. This is due to the inclement weather arriving late Friday afternoon that is forecast to continue to create difficult conditions through most of Saturday.
